Elissa Cooper, language teacher: "My little boy is in love with your beautiful books! He's sleeping with Maranga Mai tonight - we weren't allowed to take it off him! I am a languages teacher and so making sure that my son is exposed to more than just English is really important to me. His daycare has your full set of books which they frequently sing/read/play for the kids and they have told me that my son is always saying "more!" when they finish each book. He asks constantly for a "Maori book" at home. I've loved learning a little te reo myself through your books. It has been a dream of mine to do a course to learn te reo at some point and this is a good taster. So thank you for extending our horizons! We have big plans to stock up on the full set. They are a hit in our house! "
Sharon Holt lives in the Waikato region of New Zealand. She worked as a teacher and journalist before remembering her childhood dream of becoming a children's author. Since that wake up call, her children's books have been published by many trade and educational publishers. After starting to learn te reo Maori in 2002, Sharon got the idea for Te Reo Singalong books. She was working as a relief teacher in kindergartens and primary schools at the time, and realised that most teachers in mainstream education lack confidence to use and teach the level of te reo that is expected of them as part of the NZ curriculum. She designed Te Reo Singalong books to make it easy and fun to teach and learn more sentence structures in te reo.
Contains full colour pages, singalong CD, repetitive sentence structure in te reo, English translation, guitar chords, glossary and list of extension activity ideas.
